Your journey into storytelling and visual creativity begins here!

You will explore a range of genres including documentary, drama and entertainment, as you develop professional skills in single and multi-camera productions. You will have lessons and take part in workshops to develop your practical and theoretical skills. You will complete a final, major project demonstrating these skills, which will include image production and the ability to work in a team. You will also develop your analytical skills and deeper understanding of video/film production – fully preparing you for a successful career in this exciting industry.

As part of this, you will have access to professional filmmaking equipment including: a custom-built film studio featuring two infinity coves, green and white, a range of editing software, professional cinema cameras, microphones, audio recorders, LED lighting, Tracks, cranes, sliders, and gimbals.

**Progression**
Successfully completing this course will enable you to progress onto our Level 6 qualification - the BA (Hons) Film and Television Production top-up degree. This is awarded by the University of Gloucestershire. Alternatively, you can progress directly into employment within this exciting industry.

Modules

Modules over the two-year course include: concept & development, a creative project, personal and professional development, and a professional project. You will complete assignments in a range of areas including film aesthetics, content creation, scriptwriting, production design, cinematography, commercials, work experience, film production and much more.

Assessment methods

The types of assessment on the course are varied. You will experience formative assessment which is a fundamental part of your learning. This usually contributes to your learning through your ongoing feedback. It supports areas of achievement and suggests areas for improvement prior to summative assessment. Summative assessment is a more measured way of assessing your work and specifically helps to underline how the grade was achieved, this is also supported by grading criteria for each assessment.
