- The quality of the lecturers is very mixed, but most of them are good enough. In contrast, the tutorials are run well, though the questions rarely resemble what you would see on an exam. The problems classes are very helpful. The workload is manageable and the homework problems are often helpful for one's understanding

- Private accommodation is very expensive (at least for the North of England) and this makes managing financial very difficult.

- University accommodation is extortionate and generally poor. There are a range of societies for a variety of interests. There is good financial support for those from low income families. There is a lack of study spaces and the buildings often feel crowded.
