A level
Specific subjects excluded for entry: General Studies. A strong proficiency in Mathematics is required. If Mathematics is not taken as an A level subject, GCSE grade 6/B in Mathematics/Core Maths B is required.
Access to HE Diploma
60 credits with a minimum of 45 credits at level 3 (or equivalent). At least 30 level 3 credits at Distinction and in addition at least 15 level 3 credits at a minimum of merit. A strong proficiency in Mathematics is required. If Mathematics is not taken beyond GCSE, a grade 6, (or B) in GCSE Mathematics or equivalent, or Core Mathematics grade B is essential.
Cambridge International Pre-U Certificate - Principal
A strong proficiency in Mathematics is required. If Mathematics is not taken beyond GCSE, a grade 6, (or B) in GCSE Mathematics or equivalent, or Core Mathematics grade B is essential.
International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme
Seventeen points (6, 6, 5) in Higher Level subjects including Mathematics or Standard Level 5 in Mathematics or Maths Studies. We accept both Maths Analysis and Approaches, and Maths Applications and Interpretation.
Leaving Certificate - Higher Level (Ireland) (first awarded in 2017)
A strong proficiency in Mathematics is required. If Mathematics is not taken beyond GCSE, a grade 6, (or B) in GCSE Mathematics or equivalent, or Core Mathematics grade B is essential.
OCR Cambridge Technical Extended Diploma

Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (first teaching from September 2016)

Scottish Advanced Higher

Scottish Higher
Departments will normally make offers based on Advanced Highers. In the absence of 3 Advanced Highers, where these are not offered by the applicant’s school, offers comprising of Advanced Highers and Highers or a number of Highers may be made on a case by case basis. **Course details**
Combining the study of accounting and the study of finance in a business context, the Accounting and Finance degree is an ideal foundation for many careers, including careers in the accountancy profession or across the wider business sector.
You will study modules in accounting and finance developing a strong understanding of core business principles and practice that will provide you with the skills, knowledge and experience to move into a number of exciting careers or for further study.

Previous graduates have gone on to work within the accountancy profession and for businesses as accountants, specialising as auditors, financial accountants, tax specialists, management consultants etc.

Assessment methods
Modules are assessed via a combination of examinations, written assignments and reports, projects and presentations.
The range of assessment methods is designed to assess your knowledge and understanding of the material, test your capacity to solve problems, enhance your written and oral communication skills, and assess your ability to relate your learning to real-world issues.
The 10,000-word dissertation is worth one-third of your final year-marks.

Top job areas of graduates
You don't have to be an accountant if you take this degree, but over half of graduates take a look at the rewards on offer for accountancy trainees and go into the job.
