Top blogs for law students
Your required reading...

And when you do, you might dip into some of these top law blogs to keep yourself bang up-to-date on your chosen area of expertise.
BarristerBlogger
Visit BarristerBlogger for commentary and analysis of newsworthy cases, legal issues and hot topics from the world of law. Matthew Scott, a barrister with decades of experience, has been running this blog since 2013. That means there’s a huge archive of blogs to read through, and new posts are still published every couple of months or so.
Legal Feminist
This blog, which is curated by a group of practising lawyers, provides thought-provoking and immensely readable articles on how the law affects and interacts with feminism (and vice versa). Posts are clear and concise, with plenty of interesting angles around equity, inclusion and identity for law students to consider.
The Secret Barrister
This anonymous (and award-winning) blog from a criminal barrister isn’t quite so active as it once was, with a scattering of posts made over the past couple of years. But every article is profoundly insightful, providing a clear and accessible take on the barrister profession and the wider legal system. Once you’ve dug into those, be sure to also check the excellent ‘resources’ page, which is packed full of useful links for anyone considering a career as a barrister.
Pink Tape
Family law is the main topic of discussion at Pink Tape, which is run by practising family law barrister Lucy Reed. “I’d like to think that I can provide some useful information about family law for those working in the area without getting too heavy or boring,” says Lucy, and the result is a blog written in a friendly and approachable style. There’s plenty here for anyone with an interest in family legal issues and new posts arrive regularly.
The University of Law
There’s a huge variety of law-related articles to read on this well-stocked blog. The University of Law adds around 10 new posts every month, with topics ranging from ‘the role of lawyers in social justice movements’ through to an ‘inclusive language guide for law’. We particularly enjoy the ‘student snapshot’ series, with its interviews of current law students at the university. The insights they share could help any prospective law student to feel more confident about getting started.
Our partnership with The University of Law
The Uni Guide is proud to work with The University of Law as the official partner of our law hub, where current and future law students can find the advice and guidance they need.
The University of Law welcomes intelligent, ambitious students interested in the world around them; people who question systems, procedures and behaviours, and are not afraid to challenge convention.
Study at The University of Law and you’ll be equipped with the professional knowledge you need to excel in your chosen career, and supported by an award-winning employability service to help you get there.
