The BSc Biomedical Science degree at Aberystwyth University allows you to explore the integration of knowledge and clinical practice in relation to human health and disease. You will learn about the investigation, diagnosis and monitoring of human health and disease through a variety of topics including immunology, blood science, genetics, microbiology, and bioinformatics. In addition to undertaking a diverse set of practical exercises in state-of-the-art facilities, you will also conduct a final year research project on an aspect of biomedical science of your choice. During your third year you will undertake a placement tailored to your interests and career aspirations. Our specialised support team is committed to help you secure a suitable position, with former students securing positions within clinical research, healthcare, and research laboratories in the UK and abroad.
